Our Progress

August 2021

Phase 1 in the development of the University’s 2022-26 Strategic Plan is now complete. During this first phase of engagement, feedback and ideas were collected through discussions with key University stakeholders including staff, students, partners and interested community members. The groups shared their suggestions, reflective experience, new opportunities and vision for the University over the next five years.

July 2021

For three weeks in June and July, staff from across the University were invited to attend one of twelve interactive workshops hosted by department and area leads.During these workshops dozens of ideas, suggestions and specific initiatives were shared by our staff. If you weren’t able to make a workshop or would like a refresh on the discussion points, a recording is available for all staff to access here.


As we move into the months ahead, we will continue to reach out to the University community for feedback, ideas and suggestions. We want to engage the diverse and collected as many of our University community as possible and have a role in developing and owning the strategy, and we look forward to engaging with you many times.

    Identify
  • Ideation and assessment of potential actions. Organise and group potential actions by benefit, risk, ability to deliver.

    There will be many ways to be involved and kept up to date, including:
  1. Website and email updates.
  2. A stakeholder reference group to advise on engagement throughout this process.
  3. Plenary sessions.
  4. Staff and Student Newsletters.
  5. Social Media Channels.
  6. Surveys.
  7. Faculty and Department-based sessions and workshops to provide updates and to obtain input.
  8. Cross-disciplinary teams from across the University working together to consider ideas and options

June 2021

Phase 1- Identify key strategic things and ideas

As outlined in the briefing sessions, the next step is to identify the key areas of focus for the University over the next 5 years. To do this, a number of workshops and webinars will be held over the coming weeks. These sessions provide opportunity for staff to share insights into the strengths, challenges and areas of development,for considerations as part of the Strategic Planning process.

Your input will play an important part towards building a collective voice that will determine our key objectives for the next five years. The outcomes and insights discussed during these webinar workshops will be shared with the University community next month.

What’s next?

Following the first phase of engagement, cross-disciplinary teams from across the University will work together to consider the collected ideas and options, identifying key trends and evaluating potential actions.

The Strategic Plan will embrace the opportunities ahead of us and work towards a common goal of forming good citizens and making a difference to the communities we serve through teaching, scholarship and research.

We will keep you informed about the Plan's progress and look forward to sharing the endorsed 2022-26 Strategy Plan later this year.
