  • Biography

    Professor Richard Berlach’s work in the area of teaching and supervising Higher Degree Students has been benchmarked through his nine years (FT) and seven years (Adjunct) at The University of Notre Dame Australia; and 23 years prior at Edith Cowan University. He has on three occasions received the Vice Chancellor’s Award for Teaching Excellence. He has also been thrice awarded the Certificate of Excellence in Postgraduate Supervision by the Postgraduate and Honours Student Council at Edith Cowan University.

    In 2010 he received a Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning awarded by the Australian Learning & Teaching Council. In 2012 he was made a Fellow of the Australian College of Educators.

    He has some 50 publications; examined 32 Research theses (master and doctorate); brought 27 theses to successful completion; and is currently supervising doctoral candidates. He has also been successful in collaborative grant applications.

    Professor Berlach has made a 40 year contribution to Schools of Education as an academic, course developer, professional development facilitator, research leader and post graduate supervisor.
