  • Biography

    Brent holds a Bachelor of Arts and post-graduate Bachelor of Laws from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa, and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Western Australia. He was admitted as a Solicitor and Conveyancer of the High Court in South Africa in 1999 and admitted to practice in NSW and WA in 2005.

    Prior to immigrating to Perth Brent was employed by a prominent South African law firm before starting his own practice. He has been a sessional lecturer at the University of South Africa’s Allenby and Midrand II Campuses lecturing Forensic Jurisprudence, Commercial Law, Succession, Conveyancing & Notarial Practice, Labour Law, Tax and Legal Office Administration.

    Brent was the state manager of a niche national law firm from 2005 to 2009 when he joined us. Since 2009 Brent has maintained a specialist consultancy in Private Lending and Property Law which provides him with practical exposure to changes in the law and enables him to have the ongoing experience necessary for keeping his courses up to date and relevant for practice.

    Brent was the Assistant Dean of Students from 2012 to 2020 and the National Head of School Delegate in 2021.
