  • Biography

    Janet completed her nursing studies at Curtin University in 1997 and in year 2000 graduated with a first class Honours degree in Nursing. In 2003, Janet first published an article in a rehabilitation Journal which was based on her Honours project.

    Janet commenced her Graduate Nurse year (1998) at Fremantle Hospital, with clinical rotations in surgical, medical and emergency department. Janet then went on to work in the community for Silver Chain and Silver Chain Hospice Care (3years). Janet has always held a strong interest in education and returned to work at Fremantle Hospital as a Staff Development Nurse. At Fremantle Hospital Janet was the SDN for a newly opened Supervised Care Unit, she then transferred to a renal/medical ward and was appointed as the SDN for the Renal/Medical ward. At Fremantle Hospital, Janet held the position of Acting SDE for Medical area & Undergraduates (2years). Janet worked clinically in surgical/medical wards and has worked for three years in the Dialysis unit at Fremantle Hospital.

    Janet has always been proactive in seeking education to compliment her nursing career and in 2007 Janet gained her Graduate certificate in Nephrology Nursing. Janet has also completed a Certificate in Palliative Care Nursing.

    Janet joined the Notre Dame School of Nursing clinical placements team in January 2010 and worked part time as a Lecturer/Clinical Placements Officer. Janet is a Registered Nurse with 18 years of clinical nursing experience. At Notre Dame, Janet has held the position of Assistant Dean (Clinical) Placements at Notre Dame, and now works part time as a tutor for the Unit Chronic Care.
