  • Biography

    Following graduation from a Bachelor of Nursing in 2001 and Bachelor of Midwifery in 2003, I have worked in a variety of Midwifery and Nursing roles in Western Australia and abroad.
    The majority of my clinical work has been at King Edward Memorial Hospital in Perth, where I have worked in continuity of care models within Team Midwifery, the Family Birth Centre and the Adolescent Support Service. I held a concurrent role within the Department of Nursing and Midwifery Education and Research in KEMH, as a Clinical Midwifery Facilitator overseeing the practical component of Graduate Diploma of Midwifery students within the hospital

  • Research expertise and supervision

    I completed a Master of Health Professions Education at the University of Western Australia in 2019.
    My thesis was titled Completing written feedback:  A phenomenological study exploring the perspectives of Midwives and Midwifery students in Western Australia.

  • Conference papers

    I presented the findings of my research project, Completing written feedback:  A phenomenological study exploring the perspectives of Midwives and Midwifery students in Western Australia, at the Sigma Nursing Conference in Perth in 2019.
    I was accepted to present these findings at the International Confederation of Midwives 2020 conference,however this has been postposed until 2021 due to COVID19.

  • Community engagement

    In a personal capacity I serve on the P&C at my son's Primary School, currently holding the portfolio of Canteen.
    I am passionate about volunteering in developing countries and have been affiliated with No Roads Health for the past few years which has seen me travel to Papua new Guinea twice so far to provide outreach health care and village birth attendant training.
