  • Biography

    Dr Marco Ceccarelli, MA, PhD is the current Director of the Centre for Faith Enrichment, the adult faith formation agency of the Archdiocese of Perth

    Marco has taught European history, literature and culture at The University of Western Australia, where he received his PhD - A Clash of Civilisations or a Dialogue of Faiths? La Civiltà Cattolica and Catholic Responses to Islamic Terrorism.

    His current academic interests include Church history, Jesuit scholarship, Catholic responses to terrorism, interfaith dialogue, the history of modern Europe and European literature.

    Marco has published in the areas of soft-counterterrorism and non-violence, interfaith dialogue, the persecution of Christian minorities and violent extremism.

    He has worked as Acting Assistant Editor at Archdiocese of Perth Communications Office, and has served as Chief Submissions Editor of Limina – UWA’s Postgraduate Journal of Historical and Cultural Studies. He currently serves on the International Advisory Board of the Canadian think tank, Alternative Perspectives and Global Concerns (APGC).

    2007 - Adeste Humaniores Award – awarded to post-graduate students who achieved a distinction in their Honours thesis.
