  • Biography

    Dr Mohammad Zahid Hasan is an internationally recognized academic and researcher in Energy Economics, Renewable Energy, Resources and Financial Economics. Dr Hasan holds a PhD in Energy and Financial Economics from the University of Western Sydney, Australia. Dr Hasan joined the University of Notre Dame Australia in 2011 as a lecturer and currently teaches Economics and Finance courses. His research interest includes energy price shocks, renewable energy market, sustainability, stock market and contagion risk. His research articles have been published in top-ranked journals, including Energy Policy, Resources Policy and Economic Record. Dr Hasan regularly participates in peer-reviewed conferences. His research article earned the best paper award at the Global Accounting, Finance and Economics Conference in Melbourne in 2013.

    Dr Hasan supervises research students at the master's and PhD levels. He holds an associate editor position for the Journal of Advanced Research in Social and Behavioral Sciences and the Journal of Economics and Public Finance. He is also a member of the Board of Advisors at the Australian Institute of Sustainable Development (AISD). Dr Hasan is affiliated with the International Association of Energy Economics, Economic Society of Australia and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), USA.
