Blackboard, Collaborate & Turnitin

Access

To access Blackboard, you need to log in through the MyND Portal. Enter your Notre Dame ID and password on the login page, and click the Login button. Once successfully logged in, you will be directed to your main Blackboard Dashboard, where you can view announcements access any Notre Dame community sites, and the courses you are enrolled in.

Blackboard

Use Blackboard to access your course materials, including pre-recorded or streamed lectures, self-led or interactive tutorials and links to course readings. Use the Blackboard quick guide for support getting started.

Collaborate Ultra

Blackboard Collaborate Ultra is a real-time video conferencing tool that allows presentations, interaction, file and application sharing, a virtual whiteboard, anonymous polls, group work, and session recording. Use the Collaborate Ultra quick guide to get started.

Browsers

Please ensure that one of the supported browsers is being used with Blackboard. Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. Blackboard no longer supports Internet Explorer.

Check if your web browser is properly configured to use Blackboard

Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome are the recommended web browsers. Some Blackboard functionality may not work correctly when accessed via unsupported browsers. Students are encouraged to use Firefox, Opera or Chrome on Apple devices.

If you are experiencing problems in Blackboard, please also ensure you clear browser data (cookies and cached images & files).

  • Troubleshoot your Browser

    Make sure your browser has the most recent updates:

    Clear your browser cache or temporary Internet files:

    Enable JavaScript:

    Is the browser pop-up blocker turned on? If so, the site must be added to the blocker's allowed sites.

    Manage your cookies. Some applications require that cookies are enabled.

    Make sure your plug-ins are updated.

Software and plug-ins

If Blackboard is accessed from a university computer, all necessary software is pre-installed. However, additional software may be required when accessed from home.

  • Technologies Not Supported

    The following technologies are not supported:

    • Windows XP
    • Windows, Mac OS, and Linux systems not running a supported browser
    • Internet Explorer
    • Firefox versions 56 and lower
    • Chrome versions 62 and lower
    • Safari versions 11 and lower
    • JRE 5 for Blackboard Learn Original user interfaces
