Thank you for your entry in the 2020 School of Nursing & Midwifery Photo competetion.
The School of Nursing and Midwifery, Fremantle celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2020. To mark this significant milestone, we invite alumni, staff and students of the School to participate in a photo competition sponsored by HESTA.
The theme of this competition is: “Nurses and Midwives caring for people wherever and whenever they need it. The focus is to emphasise the Notre Dame Nursing and Midwifery community’s work to showcase their contribution in making a positive difference to the health and wellbeing of others.
This photo competition is also an opportunity to acknowledge and raise the profile of nurses and midwives who are doing inspirational work, leading and making an impact in clinical and non-clinical settings.

Photos may be published on our website, in our reports and publications, and on our social media channels.

Consent & Declaration
By submitting this online entry, I declare that:
- I have read the “Competition Terms and Conditions” (Terms) and confirm acceptance of the Terms.
- The entry is my original work (or if I am submitting this on behalf of a group, the original work of the group on behalf of which it is submitted), has not been copied from any other source, and does not incorporate any material or idea from any other person, and I am entitled to give permissions, warranties and licences in relation to the work as set out in the “Competition Terms and Conditions”.
- I have read the “Photo submission guidelines” and acknowledge that if, in the opinion of the University, my work does not comply with these terms, my entry may be deemed ineligible.
- I warrant that I have obtained the written consent of every person whose image is included in the photograph, including consent to use the photographer in accordance with the Terms and that I can provide the University with a copy of this written consent upon request.
- I hereby indemnify the University in relation to any claim made by a third party for loss or damage suffered as a result of them not providing consent to use their image as set out above.
- I hereby grant to The University of Notre Dame Australia an irrevocable, perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide non-exclusive licence, to display, publish, communicate to the public and broadcast for the purpose of marketing and promoting the Competition, the photograph in any media (including media not yet in existence), including, but not limited to:
- publishing it on the University’s website;
- publishing it on the University’s social media sites including, but not limited to, on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter;
- displaying it as part of an exhibition related to this Competition;
- including it in advertisements and/or publications such as, but not limited to, brochures, posters, newsletters or online publications, promoting the Competition or other competitions run by the University in future;
- I acknowledge that by allowing the University to publish my photographs on various social media platforms my work will become subject to the third party terms and privacy policies applicable to those platforms. By participating in this competition, I agree to those terms and grant the University an indemnity in relation to any loss or damage I may suffer as a result of any use of my work that may be made by a third party.
- I acknowledge and agree that the University is not liable to pay me any fee, royalty or other form of remuneration in relation to the use of the work in accordance with the Terms.
I acknowledges and agree that I may be contacted by the University to provide comments about the competition and have my photo taken and that the University may use such comments or photos for future promotional and marketing purposes without further reference or compensation to me.

Who can and how to enter?
- Entry is open to all alumni, staff and students of the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Fremantle.
- There is no limit on the number of entries submitted.
- Photos supplied must be original work and entry implies that the photographer and the people, Businesses and/or Organisations depicted in the photo have given permission for the material to be submitted for the purposes of the competition and displayed/published in accordance with the Competition Terms and Conditions.
- All entries must be emailed to deidre.johnson@nd.edu.au by the due date
- The competition opens 14 February 2020 and closes on 17 April 2020.
- All entries will be reviewed by a panel made up of staff members from the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Fremantle and the top 5 entries as judged by the panel at its discretion and taking into account any factors it considers relevant will then be posted on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram for members of the public to vote on. The decision of the panel is final.
- The final winning entry will be determined by the number of votes each of the top 5 entries receives from Facebook (Likes), Instagram (Likes) and Twitter (Hearts).
- Entries may be displayed at various locations across the University’s Fremantle Campus and at various events held by the University.
- The Winner will be announced at the University’s July 2020 Awards event.

Terms and conditions
- Information on how to enter the Competition and prize details form part of the Terms and Conditions of entry (Terms). These Terms apply to the Competition and entry in to the Competition is an implied acceptance and understanding of these terms.

- The Competition will be open from 14 February 2020 to close of business (5pm Western Australia Time) on 17 April 2020 (Competition Period).
- All entries will be reviewed by a panel made up of staff members from the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Fremantle and the top 5 entries as judged by the panel at its discretion and taking into account any factors it considers relevant will then be posted on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram for members of the public to vote on. The decision of the panel is final.

- This photo competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Entrants are providing their information to The University of Notre Dame Australia and not to Facebook or Twitter. Photograph Submission Guidelines
Photographs submitted must not:
- be sexually explicit or suggestive, unnecessarily violent or derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group, profane or pornographic, contain nudity or any dangerous activity
- promote alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing), any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous, or any particular political agenda or message
- be obscene or offensive, endorse any form of hate or hate group
- defame, misrepresent or contain disparaging remarks about The University of Notre Dame Australia or the School of Nursing and Midwifery or its services, or other people, products or companies
- infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party or contain any trademarks, logos or trade dress owned by others, or advertise or promote any brand or product of any kind
- contain any personal identification, such as vehicle number plates, personal names, email addresses or street addresses
- contain copyrighted materials owned by others (including photographs, sculptures, paintings and other works of art or images published on or in websites, television, movies or other media)
- include images of corporate logos, trademarks, identities, or other proprietary materials owned by others such as television shows, magazines, or web pages

Prize
Thanks to HESTA the winner will receive a cash prize of $250, second prize $150 and third prize $50. The winning photos will be published in the School’s newsletter, around the University campuses and on social media.
