The EQ of Leadership with Nicole Lockwood

Discover the power of soft skills in inspiring positive change and returns in an age of disruption.

Hear from Director/Deputy Chair of Leadership WA Nicole Lockwood about the essential attributes of inspirational leaders at our free sundowner event in the stunning surrounds of the City of Perth Library on Wednesday 6 November.

In today’s challenging business environment, it’s easy to lose sight of the importance of EQ – the human element of our professions.

While the ‘hard skills’ of strategic planning, economic analysis and other financial ratios are a primary focus in business, they can leave people ill-prepared for the step up to leadership – to deal effectively with the human elements of personalities, backgrounds and behaviours.

Today, the ‘human side’ of the organisation demands as much attention as the nuts and bolts of the business. An in-depth knowledge of the non-measurable dynamics, such as attitudes, preferences, biases and interests,  are essential to staff motivation, triggering initiative and drive – all key to success.

You'll also hear from Dean of Business, Prof. Werner Soontiens about how Notre Dame’s Master of Leadership program develops leaders who drive positive change and returns by leading with integrity and emotional intelligence.
