Notre Dame Partners with TISC

19 July 2021

The University of Notre Dame Australia (UNDA) and The Tertiary Institutions Service Centre (TISC) have commenced an exciting new partnership to allow prospective students to include UNDA courses in their TISC application.

Wayne Betts, Executive Officer of TISC, explained that the new functionality would be available through the TISC online application system from Monday 2 August. “We are delighted to work with Notre Dame to offer this new service,” he said. “It will enable students to manage their applications to five universities in Western Australia in one portal, giving them added convenience and flexibility. For a number of years, Notre Dame has listed its courses on TISC’s website, and now students will be able to shortlist courses and add them to their list of TISC preferences with just a couple of clicks.”

A critical consideration in the partnership was continuing Notre Dame’s consideration of personal qualities beyond academic performance.

“Notre Dame’s personalised approach starts with our admission process, which considers the whole person,” said Professor Selma Alliex UNDA Pro Vice Chancellor, Student Experience. “We know that students require many qualities to be successful in tertiary study and in their professional life, but that cannot be captured by a single score.

That’s why we consider applicants’ interests, aspirations, out of school activities, work experience and community involvement, as well as academic achievement, in assessing them for entry to our courses. Our new partnership with TISC provides streamlined administration and flexibility for applicants, while retaining this defining characteristic of our admissions process.

The 2022 TISC Guide will be distributed to Western Australian Schools from the second week of Term 3. This will provide further information on the application process to all TISC member universities.
