Pope Francis recently released his third encyclical, Fratelli tutti (Brothers all).
Fratelli tutti offers teachings devoted to the concepts of fraternity and social friendship based on the example of St Francis of Assisi, who “wherever he went…sowed the seeds of peace and walked alongside the poor, the abandoned, the infirm and the outcast, the least of his brothers and sisters”.
On Wednesday 14 October at 2.30pm AWST / 5.30pm AEST, Notre Dame will host a special international webinar to discuss the themes of Fratelli tutti, which Pope Francis says aims to soothe the fear cause by the coronavirus pandemic and unite communities divided by racism and inequality.
Taking part in the webinar from Rome is Australian Ambassador to the Holy See, Her Excellency Chiara Porro. She will be joined by CEO of Caritas Australia Kirsty Robertson; National President of St Vincent de Paul Society, Claire Victory; and the Very Rev Fr Vincent Glynn EV, Episcopal Vicar for Education and Faith Formation.
Also in attendance will be Notre Dame student association presidents Olivia Trahair and Helen Beaini. Notre Dame’s Pro Vice Chancellor Student Experience, Professor Selma Alliex, will be facilitating the event.
