HLT3315 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance

This qualification will prepare you to become a health care worker with direct patient contact under supervision in a variety of health care environments. Jobs you can apply for include: Acute Care Assistant; Liaison Officer; Orderly and Patient Assistant.

Throughout the program you will gain knowledge in basic anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology. You will gain hands-on practical skills for working in nursing teams with patient care, basic hygiene, feeding, simple dressings, and transporting patients.  During your clinical placement you will experience direct patient contact and work with nursing staff to maximise patient well-being, assist with mobility, communications, and personal care.

This course is delivered face to face on Notre dame’s Broome Campus, is part-time over 18 months, and you will be required to successfully complete 15 units of competency, 7 core units and 8 electives, to be awarded a HLT33115 Certificate III in Health Services Assistance qualification.

This program is suitable for school leavers or other interested persons wanting to gain employment in the health care sector, and current employees in the health and aged care sector wanting to gain a qualification.

This program is a great first step in a nursing career and is a pathway to HLT54115 Diploma of Nursing at Notre Dame.
