Graduate Certificate in Burn & Trauma Rehabilitation

School of Physiotherapy, Fremantle Campus

The Graduate Certificate in Burn & Trauma Rehabilitation is designed to equip healthcare professionals with the skills and knowledge to properly care for burn and trauma patients. This degree is based on the premise that rehabilitation starts at the time of injury and, as such, you will learn how to make a positive impact from the first moment you encounter an injured patient, to minimise scarring in mind and body and ultimately, enhance post-injury outcomes.

  • Why study this degree?

Here at The University of Notre Dame Australia, our postgraduate degrees are designed to give you
the opportunities to pursue the advancement of knowledge, research skills and intellectual inquiry
that can contributed to evidence-based healthcare in the community.

Our Burn & Trauma Rehabilitation degrees are delivered through the Burn Injury Research Node,
which was established through a collaboration with the Fiona Wood Foundation and Notre Dame’s
Institute for Health Research. To this day, there exists an ongoing and mutually beneficial
collaboration between our students, the researchers of the Fiona Wood Foundation and the
clinicians of the State Adult Burn Unit at Fiona Stanley Hospital.

The Graduate Certificate in Burn & Trauma Rehabilitation is designed to meet the needs of a broad
range of healthcare professionals working across the wide spectrum of burn and trauma
rehabilitation environments, or those aspiring to such positions. Over the course of your studies, you
will translate knowledge into practice through the integration of teaching and in-depth discussion
with engaged experts in the area of burns, plastic surgery, trauma management and rehabilitation.
