Undergraduate Certificate in Science

School of Arts & Sciences

The Undergraduate Certificate in Science offers students the opportunity to experience University-level studies in the Sciences. Students learn and develop skills in scientific investigation, critical thinking and problem-solving, as well as presenting information and arguments.

  • Why study this certificate?

Students can acquire new skills, add to their existing qualifications and boost their employability with an Undergraduate Certificate in Science. It is also a great way to gain an additional teaching specialisation for Education graduates. Besides being useful for future employment, an Undergraduate Certificate in Science is a pathway to further study of higher awards, such as a Diploma or Bachelor degree.

The Undergraduate Certificate in Science is designed for students who:

    • Would like to add value to their existing professional experience and qualifications by gaining skills in general science disciplines.
    • Are adding a second (or third) teaching specialisation to an Education qualification.
    • Are returning to or entering university and trialling whether they would like to proceed with further study in Science or Education.
    • Would like a pathway to further study into a Bachelor of Science, a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Education (Primary or Secondary) providing minimum entry requirements are met.
