The University of Notre Dame Australia’s International Baccalaureate program allows you to investigate the principles and practices associated with either the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP 3-12yrs) or the Diploma Programme (DP 16-19yrs). Upon completing the Graduate Certificate, you can apply to the IB for the IB certificate in teaching and learning in either IB PYP or IB DP, which are internationally recognised and develop globally minded teachers.

Students will undertake four courses including:
- Two compulsory courses
- EDUC6046 Introduction to the International Baccalaureate
- EDUC6047 Applied Pedagogy
- Two courses from either specialisation
- Primary Years Programme
- EDUC6050 Assessment in the Primary Years Programme
- EDUC6051 Curriculum in the Primary Years Programme
- Diploma Years Programme
- EDUC6048 Assessment in the Diploma Programme
- EDUC6049 Curriculum in the Diploma Programme
- Primary Years Programme

Entry requirements
A student applying for the Graduate Certificate in International Baccalaureate Education must hold a recognised teaching qualification.
Specific Program Requirements for Admission
To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in International Baccalaureate Education applicants must also meet the following specific requirements.
- A Bachelor or postgraduate degree in teaching/education or a cognate discipline.
- Students who have English as an additional language and are admitted on the basis of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) assessment, or an equivalent English language proficiency assessment, are only admitted if they have attained an overall IELTS (or equivalent) score of 7.5 (with no score lower than 8.0 in speaking and listening, and no score lower than 7.0 in reading and writing).

Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in International Baccalaureate Education graduates will be able to:
- Articulate an advanced understanding of the IB philosophy and pedagogy
- Critically analyse student data to design and implement pedagogy to a diverse range of learners
- Critically reflect to continually improve the teaching and learning cycle
- Apply strategies that foster student-directed inquiry, interdisciplinary learning, and higher order thinking; and
- Transmit knowledge of the IB Philosophy to colleagues to promote collaboration and collegiality.

Professional accreditation
As the Graduate Certificate in International Baccalaureate Education is a recognised programme with IB, graduates can apply for the IB certificate in teaching and learning for either the Primary Years Programme (PYP) or Diploma Programme (DP).
The Graduate Certificate in International Baccalaureate Education is accredited by the International Baccalaureate.

The FEE-HELP loan scheme assists eligible fee-paying students with the payment of all, or part, of their tuition fees, not including additional study costs such as accommodation or textbooks. Your FEE-HELP debt will be indexed each year in line with the Consumer Price Index.
