Alumni Events Business Alumni Reunion Alumni from a range of year groups mingled with their lecturers and classmates at Helvetica Bar in May. This year, the University welcomed Professor Werner Soontiens as the new Dean of the School of Business. Professor Soontiens has more than two decades experience in the tertiary education sector and most recently served as Director of Student Engagement and Head of the School of Management at Curtin University. SMARTCARE Nursing Seminar Notre Dame is pleased to offer professional development and networking opportunities to our alumni. In August, Nursing & Midwifery alumni joined current students and industry professionals on the Fremantle Campus for a Seminar titled ‘Working the Net’. The event co-host, Benjamin Hay (Class of 2013), emphasised the importance of ‘thinking outside the box’ when it comes to networking and creating links for employment opportunities. The formal program for the evening consisted of presentations from industry leaders and a Q&A style panel. An Expo with more than 30 industry representatives followed in the Drill Hall, giving alumni the opportunity to make connections with Nursing exhibitors and discover a wide range of career paths. Alumni Reunion – Classes of 2015 and 2016 In October, the University hosted 2015 and 2016 graduates from all Schools at an Alumni Reunion. Also held at Helvetica Bar in the Perth CBD, attendees had the opportunity to re-connect with fellow alumni and members of University staff as they recapped their first year in the workforce after graduating.
