You are an international student if you are: • a temporary resident (visa status) of Australia; • a permanent resident (visa status) of New Zealand; or • a resident or citizen of any other country. International students studying in Australia on a student visa can only study full-time and there are also specific entry requirements that must be met. TWO What does ‘certified copy’ mean? A certified copy is a photocopy of an original document that has been sighted, stamped, dated and signed by a certifying agent as a true copy of the original. The accepted people who can do this include an Australian consular official, High Commission or Trade official; a person of authority at the issuing institution (for example, the registrar); a Justice of the Peace; or public notary. Alternatively, members of the Notre Dame International Office and registered agents (see notredame. edu.au/international/agents ) can verify your documents for admission purposes only. All copies of transcripts and official documents accompanying an application must be certified. For more information, visit notredame.edu.au/ study/documents . THREE Can I be issued a packaged offer? Conditional or packaged offers are only made in conjunction with existing pathway partner arrangements. Please contact international@ nd.edu.au for more details. FOUR Can I be issued a conditional offer? Conditional offers may be made to international students if they have satisfied most of the minimum entry requirements for their program. FIVE How do I know how many courses will be credited from my previous study? You may submit your application for Advanced Standing at the time of application. For more information, visit notredame. edu.au/study/admission- requirements/advanced-standing . SIX My academic transcripts and certificates are not in English. What do I do? You must have your qualification translated and provide the International Office with certified copies of the translation and qualification or award by a certified NAATI translator. National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI): www.naati.com.au . SEVEN Do I need to sit an English language test? Students who have completed specified secondary or tertiary education in English may use this to demonstrate English language competency. Some programs, including Medicine, Nursing, Law, Education and Physiotherapy, have higher English language proficiency requirements. Please note: Notre Dame reserves the right to request the evidence of English competencies from any applicant or a recognised English language test. EIGHT Can I apply for a Scholarship?
