SCHOOL OF ARTS & SCIENCES ARTS MASTER OF ARTS Duration: Two years full-time or the equivalent part-time Admission requirements: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Loan Scheme: RTP* Campuses: Fremantle, Sydney The Master of Arts offers a two year full-time or equivalent part-time supervised program leading to a thesis of between 30,000-40,000 words in length within specific fields of humanities and social science. The program is designed for candidates who have completed coursework studies sufficient for a single research program to be undertaken. The degree provides graduates with specialised research training and knowledge beyond an undergraduate Honours program, and paves the way for entry into a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program. SCIENCE MASTER OF SCIENCE Duration: Two years full-time or the equivalent part-time Admission requirements: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Loan Scheme: RTP* Campus: Fremantle The Master of Science aims to expand knowledge, research skills and intellectual inquiry, culminating in a research thesis within which a student demonstrates a capacity to conceive, design and complete independent yet supervised research. The research thesis will likely relate to the current areas of research within the School and, while providing graduates with specialised research training and knowledge beyond an undergraduate Honours program, paves the way for entry into a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program. COUNSELLING DOCTOR OF COUNSELLING Duration: Three years full-time or the equivalent part-time Admission requirements: An Honours or Master’s level degree, completed to a high standard. Previous research experience and at least three years professional experience are required for the professional doctorate. Loan Scheme: RTP* Campus: Fremantle The Doctor of Counselling offers an applied three-year or equivalent program leading to a thesis of approximately 80,000 words in length. It seeks to bridge the theory-practice gap and make a practical contribution to a specific area of counselling and professional knowledge as well as make a contribution to current scholarly understanding.
