THEOLOGY MASTER OF THEOLOGY Duration: Two years full-time or the equivalent part-time Admission requirements: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent completed to a high standard Loan Scheme: RTP* Campuses: Fremantle, Sydney As a Catholic university, Note Dame is committed to the important role played by theology in the search for a synthesis of knowledge as well as in the dialogue between faith and reason. The Master of Theology provides an opportunity to research the quest by the Church to understand the role of faith in history and to carry out research of enduring significance with the context of contemporary scholarship, using authentic methods of interpretation. PHILOSOPHY MASTER OF PHILOSOPHY Duration: One and a half years full-time or the equivalent part-time Admission requirements: A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent completed to a high standard Loan Scheme: RTP* Campuses: Fremantle, Sydney Students have the opportunity to contribute to the exploration and communication of researched inquiry about the reality of the world, knowable by reason (philosophy); or, building on that philosophical knowledge, the implications of the Church’s role of faith, through Scripture and Tradition. Research students employ contemporary scholarship in pursuit of fundamental questions explored within their respective disciplines. This can be completed in the disciplines of Philosophy or Theology. DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY Duration: Three years full-time or the equivalent part-time Admission requirements: An Honours or Master’s level degree completed to a high standard. Previous research experience is required. Loan Scheme: RTP* Campuses: Fremantle, Sydney Candidates in the degrees of Doctor of Philosophy develop robust knowledge about areas of research that are key to inquiry within a Catholic university. Key areas of research are oriented by the conviction that “Without in any way neglecting the acquisition of useful knowledge, a Catholic university is distinguished by its free search for the whole truth about nature, man and God”.
