HEALTH SCIENCES Accreditation A number of Notre Dame’s Health Sciences degrees are accredited by the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership, and Exercise Sports Science Australia. Facilities The School of Health Sciences is housed in a purpose-built facility which includes the following: • Exercise Physiology Laboratory/Gym • Biomechanics Laboratory/Gym • Strength and Conditioning Gym • Motor Control Laboratory • Rehabilitation pool Professional Experience You gain valuable professional experience as part of your degree to support your employment prospects and guide your career aspirations prior to graduation. Practicums and internships are a compulsory requirement of all Health Sciences programs. Depending on your degree, they take place in community health centres, pathology laboratories, government departments, health promotion agencies, schools, voluntary service agencies, research laboratories, sporting organisations, gyms and adventure sports companies. Double degrees – Health Sciences A double undergraduate degree enables you to complete two qualifications at once, saving time and money while increasing your employment opportunities. Most double degree combinations can be completed in four years, while double degrees with Law require five years. Double degree in the School of Health Sciences: • Bachelor of Biomedical Science / Bachelor of Health Promotion Double degree in the School of Law: • Bachelor of Laws / Bachelor of Biomedical Science Combine a Bachelor of Biomedical Science with a Bachelor of Commerce from the School of Business.
