Our comprehensive Bachelor of Exercise & Sport Science degree examines the implications of physical activity on the health of the community and prepares you to work with elite athletes. Why study this degree As part of this degree, you are exposed to a broad range of applications in the Exercise and Sport Sciences and will learn how they can be applied in the areas of health promotion, rehabilitation, physical education and elite athletic training. The degree is accredited by the national industry body Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA). As a graduate completing an ESSA-accredited course are able to work in Australia as an exercise and sport scientist, strength and conditioning coach, sports coach or health and fitness consultant. With a strong focus on prevention, you learn evidence based strategies to identify health related issues and devise potential solutions to improve individual, community and whole population health and wellbeing. Why study this degree The Bachelor of Health Promotion focuses on promoting individual and community health and wellbeing. You develop a clear understanding of how social and other health determinants impact health and wellbeing as well as the effectiveness of socio-environmental, population and community approaches to health promotion. Throughout the program you explore the psychological aspects of health behaviour, behavioural aspects of change, health promotion principles, frameworks, planning and implementation, social marketing, principles of community development, project management and health related research and evaluation.
