ALUMNI I ASSOCIATlON Recently, while sitting in a friend's apartment in Phoenix, Arizona I was introduced to a third person, who mentioned to me how when he was at Notre Dame (US) in 1996 he met another guy from Australia whose name also happened to be Toby. He was shocked when I informed him that the Toby he referred to meeting nine years earlier was in fact me. We recollected the times we shared over that summer and caught up on what we had both being doing with our lives since that time. While reflecting on this impromptu reunion I later realised that our chance meeting was a metaphor for the role that an alumni association plays at a university. It is the role of the Alumni Association to ensure that not only are opportunities provided to enable former classmates and friends Jane Farrow Jane Farrow graduated with a Bachelor of Communications with Honours in 2001. During that time she was also the first student to complete an exchange to the Catholic University of America in Washington DC where she studied for a semester, completed a full internship at PBS Television and attended documentary classes held by Geoff Pingree, an Emmy Award-Winning Documentary producer. Ms Farrow has worked as a Production Co-Coordinator for RPM, a weekly live motorsports news show, and a number of other motorsport programs for Channel Ten in Sydney. Today, Ms Farrow is employed by Storyteller Media Group (the documentary company she held a part time job with whilst completing her degree) as a Production Manager for the third series of a program called Animal X. to catch up, but to also provide the reasons to encourage alumni to want to reconnect with their former friends and classmates. We encourage all those that have been connected with Notre Dame over the years past to reflect on their experiences in being involved with the University and to consider those that impacted on their experience whilst at Notre Dame. By re-connecting, you have the possibility of rekindling relationships with old friends and acquaintances, but you will also assist in developing the 'Notre Dame Network' as well as the culture that will lead to the development of a strong Alumni Association. The Alumni Association is happy to assist where we can to re– connect old friends and colleagues from the early years at Notre Dame, through the Alumni 'Locator' service available via the website.
