  • Biography

    Jeanette is a joint appointment by IHR and Nulungu Research Institute in Broome. She is a medical graduate with a Master's degree in Health Personnel Education and a PhD in Behavioural Sciences in relation to Medicine. She is a Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Australian College of Health Service Management.

    Prof Ward also has three decades of experience in population and public health having worked in both the government and non-government sectors in Australia and Canada, including a personal Chair in policy implementation at the University of Ottawa.  She currently lives in Broome where she works as Consultant, Public Health Medicine in the Kimberley Population Health Unit for the Western Australian Country Health Service. Her role focuses on strategic development of public health, primary health care and stakeholder partnerships to improve population outcomes.

    Jeanette is keen to use her knowledge and experiences to work with both Institutes and is examining the opportunities to undertake collaborative research, implementation projects and HDR student supervision.
