Newsletter 15 | February 2022 Notre Dame National School of Nursing, Midwifery, Health Sciences and Physiotherapy Welcome from the National Head It is with great pleasure that I write this welcome message for the first time as the National Head of School of Nursing, Midwifery, Health Sciences and Physiotherapy. It is hard to believe a year has gone by and what a busy and rewarding year it has been. As we commence 2022, I would like to start by reflecting on 2021. I want to thank all the wonderful, dedicated and committed staff in the Fremantle, Broome and Sydney campuses who has shown immense resilience and agility in what was another year of challenges and uncertainty especially for our colleagues in NSW. Despite this, we achieved two successful semester of teaching and research throughout the year. For the disciplines of Health Sciences, Physiotherapy and Nursing and Midwifery in Fremantle, we were also able to acknowledge our students for outstanding achievement in service and academic excellence in end of year award ceremonies. Congratulations to all our deserving students and well done on your achievement. I want to also take this opportunity to acknowledge the following long standing staff who left the School over the past 12 months: Dr Judith Wilson, Anita Zele, A/Prof Kylie Russell, Dr Tracey Coventry, Chelsea Smart, Paul Rycroft, A/Prof Fiona Farringdon, Helen McCabe, Mark Rosenthal. These staff members has been part of the growth of the School over the many years and I thank them for their enormous contribution to the School. In this new National multidisciplinary newsletter, we highlight and showcase some of the wonderful work of our staff in the School. We hope you enjoy reading the stories. Once again, on behalf of the School, we give thanks to our wonderful students and staff for a challenging but rewarding year in 2021 and look forward to another successful year in 2022.
