The Work Health and Safety (WHS) Policy provides the framework for health and safety across the University.

Health and Safety Committees

Each of the three Campuses has a Health and Safety Committee, which provides a consultative mechanism in relation to all work health and safety matters.

The Health and Safety Committees are advisory in nature, established to provide health and safety advice to the respective Head of Campus and National WHS Manager and assist with the implementation of national work health and safety systems, thereby supporting and strengthening the safety and health of staff, students, visitors, volunteers and contractors.

Health and Safety Representatives

Each campus has Health and Safety Representatives. The role of the Health and Safety Representative is to:

  • assist in identifying and resolving health and safety matters on campus;
  • investigate incidents;
  • conduct regular workplace inspections;
  • refer health and safety matters to the relevant Health and Safety Committee;
  • liaise with staff regarding health and safety matters; and
  • keep informed of health and safety information provided by the University.

Reporting an Injury, Incident, Hazard or Near Miss

Staff and students are responsible for reporting injuries, incidents, hazards and near misses that occur on Campus, in accordance with the University’s Work Health & Safety Policy.

Please use the Incident Report Form to report any injuries, incidents hazards and near misses that occur on campus. Information on how to submit the form are provided on the form.

Health and Safety On-Campus Training

The University is committed to providing all staff and students with training and guidance on safety and health.
