“For outdoor education the hands-on learning is unbeatable. Getting out there with the schools in the programs, learning from instructors is an excellent opportunity to lead myself and instruct the students. I can’t get that in a classroom,” says Notre Dame Bachelor of Outdoor Recreation graduate, Dylan.
Dylan aspires to work in the outdoor industry before pursuing a career as a firefighter. Dylan says Notre Dame provided him with more than just a degree in outdoor recreation.
“The holistic approach to education at Notre Dame will help me greatly, especially the learnings in ethics. It will help me with a diverse range of clients at my future employment locations,” says Dylan.
“I hope to become a firefighter. In the meantime I hope to work in the outdoor industry for various schools and private organisations instructing on programs.”
The Outdoor Recreation graduate was drawn to undertake his degree due to the high levels of practical experience and the ability to create industry connections through practical placements and Notre Dame’s strong relationship with industry practitioners.
