It was the one-on-one student support and professional experience that led Bachelor of Nursing student, Kai, to pursue her passion for helping others on Notre Dame’s Fremantle Campus.

“While researching different universities, I found that Notre Dame had an excellent nursing degree and reputation in Australia especially for their practical hours,” says Kai.

As a student from Malaysia, Kai says she has made the most of the individually tailored support for international students – including mentoring, student counselling and careers services.

Being aided by a Nursing lecturer as a mentor was extremely helpful as she ensured that I was keeping on track with things that international students usually struggle with.

“She also connected me with other Nursing students that were in a similar situation.”

Kai recommends visiting the unique town university campus in person to “get a feel of the university vibe” – with the iconic Bathers Beach just minutes away.

“I believe it is the holistic environment that Notre Dame provides to students that develops them as a person and it is well suited and prepares us for the work place.”
