Driven by the University’s emphasis on practical learning opportunities for students, Heidi says she has realised the importance of patient-centre care as a midwife, especially when unexpected challenges arise.

“I hope to work as a midwife and as a registered nurse with the goal of empowering women. The range and extent of practical experiences at Notre Dame have been great for learning,” says the Notre Dame Midwifery graduate.

“The Midwifery course has allowed me to develop my critical thinking skills, looking at research and opening up a whole new field of health care for me. The range of practicum experience that I’ve been able to do have been beneficial for my future career.”

The Midwifery program at The University of Notre Dame Australia is characterised by a commitment to provide a caring, supportive and stimulating environment in which registered nurses learn to become safe, effective and reflective midwifery practitioners.
