Dr Males graduated from The University of Notre Dame Australia’s Fremantle Campus in 2015, with a greater awareness of how to approach matters in a more logical way through his role as the Head of a prominent Perth-based junior school.

His research degree focussed on how a one-to-one laptop program could boost the literacy and numeracy outcomes on boys’ education in WA.

Dr Males said Notre Dame had the ability to ensure it paid attention to the needs of postgraduate students.

“Notre Dame has a great sense of community, it’s very personable and it makes you realise your value as a student,” Dr Males said.

“My Notre Dame degree helps me to look at things with rigour and apply a more research-based approach to determine what matters when it comes to teaching and learning.”

“Having the opportunity to influence a young learner and to help them on their pathway is something really rewarding,” the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) graduate said.
