Loan Scheme: HECS-HELP The School of Education offers a number of graduate programs for people holding an undergraduate degree in disciplines other than teaching and who wish to gain a qualification to teach. The Master of Teaching (Primary Education) program consists of 24 courses covering topics such as theology, drama, science, dance, visual arts, English, mathematics and physical education, plus specialist instruction in religious education, working with Indigenous students and advanced teaching skills. You will also undertake 10 weeks of classroom-based practicum each year. Loan Scheme: HECS-HELP Notre Dame’s two-year Master of Teaching (Secondary Education) offers 20 weeks of practicum and allows students to take a more graduated approach to the in-school development of teaching competence. There are two school experience opportunities over the two years of the program – Term Two in the first-year and Term Three in the second-year. The program gives students the ability to teach in two learning areas of the secondary curriculum and accreditation to teach Religious Education if desired.
