Professional experience A special feature of Notre Dame’s Nursing degree is the availability of substantial clinical experience. The Bachelor of Nursing program allows you to develop your skills in an intensive workplace environment. Our Bachelor of Nursing is supported by a minimum of 1,120 hours of clinical practicum – the most extensive practical experience of any degree in Western Australia. Placements are full-time and cover all the normal shifts across a seven-day week. Four to six week placements take place in public and private, both metro and rural, hospitals, medical centres, community health centres and voluntary service agencies. Critical thinking You will graduate with the ability to be a reflective practitioner with sound decision making abilities, and clear, critical and creative thinking and effective problem solving skills. Our comprehensive curriculum enables you to acquire the knowledge, skills and competence to respond appropriately to change and effectively deal with professional issues that impact upon your practice as a nurse.
