Admission pathways If you don’t receive the indicative minimum Selection Rank for your desired degree, there are other ways to enter university. Tertiary Pathway Program The Tertiary Pathway Program (TPP) is designed to help if you have not met the requirements for entry into the University’s undergraduate degrees. Following successful completion of the TPP, you may gain entry to complete an undergraduate degree in the following areas*: • Arts & Sciences • Business • Education • Health Sciences • Nursing • Philosophy & Theology Program structure To gain entry to most Arts & Sciences, Business, and Philosophy & Theology degrees, you must complete the following four courses: • Academic Writing • Communication Skills • Essential Mathematics • Research Skills & Information Literacy Nursing & Health Sciences Pathway If you wish to transition into the Bachelor of Nursing or Health Sciences you will complete the following courses: • Academic Writing • Research Skills & Information Literacy • Essential Mathematics • Foundations of Human Biology Education Pathway If you wish to transition into the Bachelor of Education (Primary and Early Child & Care; 0-8 years) you will complete the following: • Academic Writing • Research Skills & Information Literacy • Communication Skills • Essential Mathematics Please note: the Tertiary Pathway Program to transition into the Bachelor of Secondary Education is only available on the Sydney Campus. I’ve completed the Tertiary Pathway Program, now what? Following the successful completion of the Tertiary Pathway Program you’ll receive a Record of Achievement and a Certificate of Attainment. I’ve completed an enabling program at another uni. Am I eligible for Notre Dame? A range of approved enabling courses from other tertiary institutions are accepted for entry to some degrees. Please contact the Admissions Office for more information. *For some degree programs, direct entry is not possible through the Tertiary Pathway Program. The TPP is available only for Australian and New Zealand citizens, permanent residents and holders of humanitarian visas. ATAR Notre Dame encourages students to undertake the ATAR pathway to university. English requirements Notre Dame does not have prerequisite subjects, however, you must achieve 50 percent scaled score in ATAR English, English Literature or English as an additional language or dialect to meet English Language requirements. A list of recommended subjects and further information on English Language requirements can be found at notredame. edu.au/study/admission-requirements Special Tertiary Admissions Test For Mature Age applicants (20+ years of age), the Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) is designed to demonstrate your ability to progress with tertiary studies. Notre Dame requires you to complete both the Written English and Multiple Choice forms of STAT. Vocational Education & Training If you have successfully completed a relevant Certificate IV (post-Year 12), Diploma or Advanced Diploma level qualification at a RTO, you are considered to have met the academic minimum entry requirements for access to many degrees at Notre Dame. If you have completed a Certificate IV in Year 12, and meet English Language requirements, you can apply for degrees in Arts & Sciences and Business – with the exception of a Bachelor of Arts (Architecture).
