Cardio-Respiratory Research and Pulmonary Hypertension

Our research focus within this group is varied. We are interested in chronic lung disease especially Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) and Pulmonary Vascular Disease, especially Pulmonary Hypertension.  We are involved in the world’s largest study of cardio-respiratory complications of Systemic Sclerosis (SSc, also known as Scleroderma). We collaborate closely within Australia and Internationally in a range of studies. We are developing a thoracic biobank to optimise management of patients with lung malignancy and examining the role of Inferior Vena Caval Filters (IVCF) in the prevention and management of venous thromboembolic (VTE) disease.
