Prevalence of Bronchiectasis in Systemic Sclerosis (SSc)

Examining the prevalence and impact of developing bronchiectasis as a complication of SSc.

This study aims to determine the prevalence of bronchiectasis, potential relationship to GERD and its impact in terms of survival, quality of life and utilisation of health care resources.

Indications and Use of Inferior Vena Caval Filters Filters (IVCF) in venous thromboembolic (VTE) disease

We have examined the indications and use of IVCF at SJGH Subiaco.

Indications, Complication rates and outcomes from IVCF use at SJGH. Are the indications for IVCF use consistent with published guidelines?

The results from this study have shown inconsistent compliance with published guidelines raising further questions about the consistency of these guidelines and role in patients with malignancy.

The Australian Scleroderma Database has tracked complications of SSc. We are the co-ordinating centre within WA.

A double-blind placebo controlled trial of Apixaban in Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension

Examining the safety and outcomes (survival, quality of life, use of health care resources, time to clinical worsening) of anticoagulation in pulmonary hypertension

The results of this project have shown that anticoagulation with Apixaban is safe. Efficacy results are awaited.
