Confidentiality

Any information you share with a Respect or Respect@Work Officer will be treated with strict confidentiality. Your personal details will not be disclosed unless you give consent, or unless the University is legally required to act—this occurs only in rare circumstances, such as disclosures involving the sexual abuse of a child.

Officers are required to record the number and general nature of disclosures received, but no identifying information about you or any other person is included. This de-identified reporting helps the University spot trends, strengthen prevention strategies and improve its processes.

If you have any questions or concerns about how your information will be handled, you are welcome to discuss them with an Officer at any time.
