Implementation
Preperation
In preparation for implementation, we have:
- Established a cross-functional partnership between Student Experience and Success, People and Culture, and the Gender-based Violence Steering Committee (GBV Steering Committee) to support implementation of the National Code and ensure compliance while fostering a culture of safety, respect, and accountability.
- Delivered training for Respect@Work Officers for employees.
- Refreshed Respect Officer training for students.
- Provided trauma-informed investigation training for internal investigators.
- Scheduled gender-based violence prevention and response training for the GBV Steering Committee.
- Provided scheduled compliance and GBV response training to senior management and members of the Board.
- Sourced training to educate staff on gender-based violence and promote respectful workplace behaviours.
- Implemented a Discrimination, Harassment, Bullying and Sexual and Gender-based Violence Policy.
- Implemented a Responding to Sexual and Gender-based Violence Procedure.
- Updated internal resources and support information.
Approval
Our Gender-based Violence Prevention and Response Plan was endorsed by the Vice Chancellor and Chancellor and submitted to the Gender-based Violence Regulator. The plan is designed to evolve based on evidence and community expectations and increasingly draw on lived and living experience.
Reporting
This page will host our progress reports, ensuring transparency as we implement the plan across the University.
