  • Biography

Alison Casey is a Learning Technologies Developer at The University of Notre Dame Australia. After teaching and working briefly as a scientist, upon completing her PhD at the University of Sydney, Alison moved into a role as head of IT at a financial services company and oversaw the migration of the company’s communication technology where she managed a highly ambitious data management software project, managed a help desk team, and initiated the company’s web presence. Alison has been an executive member of the NSW Parents' Council and participated as a representative of that council at various curriculum consultative events with the Board of Studies Teaching and Educational Standards NSW (BOSTES).

Alison began working as a sessional tutor at The University of Notre Dame Australia, Sydney Campus in 2013 for the School of Education in the Primary Education and Birth to Twelve programs. She has since taught all Science courses offered in those programs, in addition to Mathematics and Family and Community Partnerships. Along with her Notre Dame colleagues, Alison participated in the trialling and review of the Opening Real Science project with Macquarie University in 2015 and 2016. She has since been involved in course development for the new specialisation courses to be run in the Primary Education program.
