Remuneration & entitlements
Generous parental leave
Eligible staff can access up to 26 weeks paid parental leave for primary carers and 2 weeks paid leave for non-primary caregivers.
Benefits for staff working at Broome
Staff working at the Broome Campus receive remote location benefits, two weeks additional leave and $1,000 location allowance each year.
Generous superannuation
Continuing and fixed-term staff members receive 13.5% employer superannuation contributions and access on-site UniSuper superannuation advice, seminars and support.
Career Development Fund
General Staff can apply for financial support to undertake career development activities to develop their professional skills and knowledge in their current position and to enhance their career.
Professional Development Leave
Staff can access up to 5 days leave to undertake approved professional development activities.
LinkedIn Learning
Staff can develop their skills through LinkedIn Learning’s online educational platform of over 15,000 online courses to develop business, technology-related, and creative skills through expert-led course videos. Discover, complete, and track courses related to your role and build your professional skills to in your role and career aspirations.
Study Support
Study Support is available to employees employed on a full-time or part-time 0.5 FTE or greater basis and includes:
Study Leave of up to 4 hours per week to attend and travel to classes and exams, complete assessments or private study; and
Financial Assistance for Study to assist with the payment of fees (via reimbursement) for up to 2 courses per year upon successful completion of an approved course at The University of Notre Dame Australia.
Employee Family Study Discount at Notre Dame
The University offers a dependent child of an eligible employee 25% discount on tuition fees for full fee paying first degrees and diplomas offered at The University of Notre Dame Australia.

Generous long service leave
While Notre Dame doesn’t recognise prior service from other Australian higher education institutions, staff are entitled to generous long service leave provisions after 7 years of service.
Extended Study Leave
Academic Staff can apply for the opportunity to take an extended period of leave to undertake research and other scholarly work to develop in their current position and to enhance their career.
University libraries
Staff can access Library resources from our six libraries located across the Fremantle, Broome and Sydney Campuses to assist you in your academic role or studies.
Community and belonging
Morning teas and social clubs
Regular morning teas are hosted on each campus, along with other social gatherings held throughout the year as an opportunity to get to know each other and build community.
Mass
Daily mass services are offered on each campus for staff, students and members of the public to attend.

Discounted Bupa Health Fund membership

Free Flu Vaccinations
Staff can obtain free annual flu vaccinations on campus or obtain a redeemable pharmacy voucher for staff unable to attend on the day or for those based at rural sites

Staff on the Sydney Campus can access discounted gym and pool memberships with:

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Staff can access free confidential counselling services through our EAP provider, Access Wellbeing Services, to assist staff with personal and work-related situations that are impacting on their wellbeing.

Promotion opportunities
The University rewards and recognises outstanding achievement and sustained high performance of academic staff through the annual academic promotions process. Academic staff have the opportunity to apply for promotion to the next level of appointment, with assessment based on merit and academic achievement.
