2.3.5 Finding help
It may seem like the University has a lot of expectations around academic integrity and ethical scholarship, but there are also a lot of places to get help with it all.
Click on each of the headings below to find out what kind of help is available and where you can get it.
The University of Notre Dame is committed to the pastoral care of all students so, as a student at Notre Dame, you can expect to get individual help from your lecturers and tutors regarding issues such as plagiarism and referencing.
The University Library website contains subject guides to help you find resources in your area of study, video tutorials, and the link to the University’s assignment cover sheet. Click on Referencing Guide to access full details, examples and printable “Printable Quick Reference Guides” for each of the three referencing styles used at Notre Dame. The Library also runs workshops on research techniques, referencing and using citation management software.
The Notre Dame Study Support runs study skills workshops on a range of topics including time management, analysing assignment questions, essay writing, critical thinking, and exam preparation. Students can also get individual help by making an appointment to see an Academic Support Officer, or view the Learning Skills guides online.
The Access and Inclusion Advisor provides assistance to registered students with a temporary or permanent medical condition or disability by assessing, planning and implementing reasonable adjustments on a case-by-case basis, depending on a student’s circumstances.
