Mental Health First Aid

Most people now know that mental health problems are common and disabling.

Like traditional physical first aid, mental health first aid is provided until the person receives professional help or the crisis subsides.

Mental health first aid is the help you give to someone developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis.

Encouraging early help-seeking is one way to promote a mentally healthy workplace and this is where Mental Health First Aid can help.

Knowing who your MHFA Officers are and how they can support your work area is key. One in five Australian adults experiences a mental health problem, so addressing concerns early can lead to better mental health outcomes.

Contact a MHFA Officer on your campus today.

In the case of an emergency call 000. Alternatively, you can contact a number of support services that may assist.
