Advance HE Fellowship
Earning a fellowship requires reflective practice that evidences sustained activity in relation to teaching, learning support and provision of professional development in higher education. Fellowship applications are not role dependent; applicants must explore whether they have sufficient evidence of practice and/or impact to make a successful application.
Reflecting the variety of roles that contribute to learning and teaching in higher education, there are four categories of Advance HE fellowship.

Principal Fellowship
A highly experienced individual whose practice involves a sustained record of effectiveness in strategic leadership of high-quality learning within or beyond the institution, or across a discipline or profession. In achieving Principal Fellowship, you will be able to demonstrate your effective strategic leadership and extensive impact on higher education learning within your context.

Senior Fellowship
Leads and effectively influences academic practice and learning to benefit students, working with and through ‘others’ in a wide range of global contexts. In achieving Senior Fellowship, you will be able to demonstrate that you are effective at leading or influencing practice to enhance student learning within your context.

Fellowship
May come from a wide variety of different contexts whose practice with learners has ‘breadth and depth’, enabling them to evidence all PSF 2023 Dimensions such as lecturers, course coordinators, professional staff who teach. In achieving Fellowship, you will be able to demonstrate that your practice with learners is effective and inclusive within your higher education context.

Associate Fellowship
May be new to teaching and/or new or experienced staff with specific learning support roles such as professional staff, careers advisors. In achieving Associate Fellowship, you will be able to demonstrate that your practice with learners is effective and inclusive within your higher education context.
The Professional Standards Framework 2023 (PSF 2023) sets the requirements for the evidence of personal professional practice, on which fellowships are awarded. The four Descriptors of the PSF 2023 provide guidance to fellowship applicants in understanding the category of fellowship that is most appropriate to their practice and professional experience.
Advance HE fellowships are open to all teaching and/or learning support staff including, library staff, learning advisors, equity officers and more. Fellowship funding at Notre Dame is limited and subject to a competitive process. All applications require support and professional development funding from the faculty or organisational area.

Queensland University of Technology currently offers the pathway course in support of applications for the accredited Associate Fellow (Indigenous Knowledges). Notre Dame staff are eligible for the Advance HE institutional membership application fee.
