Essential learning

Our Develop@ND Learning Management System (LMS) provides continuing and fixed term staff with a central platform to access their Essential Learning mandatory training. These Courses are vital for fostering a knowledgeable and safe work environment. Completing these Courses builds your awareness of your rights and responsibilities and contributes to the overall well-being and efficiency of the University.

To activate your account, access Develop@ND LMS, then follow these steps:

  1. Select 'Login with SAML 2.0' - do not enter information into Username or Password fields
  2. Follow the prompts to sign into TalentLMS via Okta authentication

Once you have accessed the LMS, you will be able to complete your allocated mandatory training directly through ‘My Training’.

Appropriate Workplace Behaviour

The Appropriate Workplace Behaviour course includes information to help all employees better understand and respond to legislative requirements around Discrimination, Harassment and Psychosocial Hazards. It is designed to enable organisations to mitigate their risks whilst enabling workers to create safe and productive workplaces.

The Appropriate Workplace Behaviour course addresses Respect@Work legislation, positive duty requirements, sexual harassment, discrimination, victimisation, vilification, and bullying.

Duration: 30 - 40 minutes

Health, Safety and Wellbeing Induction

This module is designed to foster a safe and healthy working and learning environment and provides an overview of our WHS management system, including your rights and responsibilities as an employee, how to identify and control hazards, how to respond to emergency situations, and the resources available to you to help you stay safe at work.

Duration: 30 minutes

Chemical Awareness (employees who work in labs or with chemicals)

This module is designed for employees who work with hazardous chemicals in any capacity to enhance your understanding of hazards and risks associated with chemical use in the workplace and to manage these risks by using the hierarchy of controls.

Duration: 20 minutes

Modern Slavery 101

This module is designed to build your understanding of modern slavery, particularly in relation to procurement processes and risk management, by introducing you to the different forms of modern slavery, who is at risk of modern slavery, modern slavery risks in supply chains and the prevalence of modern slavery in Australia.

Duration: 20 minutes

Cyber Security Awareness Course

This module is designed to enhance your understanding of cyber safety and teach you how to prevent, identify and report cyber security incidents, including how you can defend yourself against phishing, create strong passwords, secure your devices and report incidents.

First Nations

This module is designed to provide you with an understanding of the importance and advantages of Australian Indigenous cultural diversity. This module explores eight themes central to the understanding of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture as it applies to the workplace.

Duration: 30 minutes

Records Management

This module is designed to introduce Records Management principles. It covers the basic principles that staff should understand to ensure that University records are managed correctly to ensure that they are accurate, secure and reliable.

Duration: 25-35 minutes

Modern Slavery - Business Relevance

This module provides a business perspective on modern slavery and why it is important to manage modern slavery risk in organisations.

Duration: 30 minutes

Countering Foreign Interference

This module will raise counter foreign interference awareness for staff who are engaged in foreign collaboration or other partnership activities at risk of foreign interference. The e-Learning module was developed by the Department of Home Affairs and is designed to be a general introduction to the counter foreign interference landscape.

Duration: 30 minutes

Notre Dame Employee Induction

Welcome! This Induction course is designed for new employees to help you seamlessly join the Notre Dame community and gain essential foundational knowledge. The course is divided into two modules 'Introducing Notre Dame' and 'Working at Notre Dame' each covering a key aspect of your induction. Once you've completed the modules, you're welcome to return and revisit any section at any time for a refresher.
