26 October 2026

The University of Notre Dame Australia is pleased to welcome Professor Stephen Satchell to the Sydney Campus as part of the Visiting Cambridge Scholar Academic Program, a prestigious initiative made possible through the support of a generous donor.

Professor Satchell will be visiting the Sydney Campus for one month, commencing 19 October 2026. He is an Emeritus Reader in Financial Econometrics at the Faculty of Economics, University of Cambridge, and a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge. Professor Satchell is widely recognised for his contributions to the fields of economics and finance.

As the successful candidate for the Visiting Cambridge Scholar Academic Program, Professor Satchell's visit provides a significant opportunity to strengthen Notre Dame's research culture and international academic engagement.

During his time at the University, Professor Satchell will work closely with staff as well as PhD and Honours students, supporting their research development and providing valuable academic mentoring. His engagement will help emerging researchers refine their research capabilities, gain exposure to international best practice, and benefit from the guidance of a distinguished scholar from one of the world's leading universities.

Professor Satchell will also deliver a seminar, providing a unique opportunity to learn from a Cambridge academic with extensive international experience in economics and finance. The lecture will offer participants valuable insights from his research and professional expertise while also exposing them to the academic traditions and intellectual culture of the University of Cambridge.

The University looks forward to welcoming Professor Satchell and to the valuable contribution his visit will make to student learning, research excellence, and the broader academic community.
