Student ID and concession cards
University Student ID Card
Each student at the University of Notre Dame Australia is required to have a University Student ID Card. You are eligible for a Student ID Card if you have a current UNDA enrolment and have been issued a student ID number.
A University ID card allows you to:
- Prove your identity as a student on campus and at examinations
- Store monetary values for printing and photocopying
- Borrow books from the University libraries
Ordering an ID card
Before ordering your ID card, ensure that you have activated your student account and set up Okta Verify on your device. Complete the steps below if you are a new student ordering your ID card for the first time.
1: Log in to Capture Me
Check your student email for an invite from Capture Me or access the Capture Me Portal.
2: Submit your ID for Verification
Upload a copy of a valid government-issued photo ID, such as:
- Australian Driver’s Licence
- Passport
- Proof of Age Card
3. Upload your ID photo
Using the requirements provided, upload a photo for review:
- Colour photo, not black and white
- Head and shoulders only, facing directly at the camera
- Neutral expression (no frowning or raised eyebrows)
- Plain, light-colored background (white or grey preferred)
- No hats or head coverings unless for religious or medical reasons
- No sunglasses (clear prescription glasses are acceptable)
- No filters or enhancements
4. Confirmation and approvals
Once submitted, you will receive an email confirmation indicating that your photo has been successfully received.
You will receive an email notifying you whether your photo has been approved or requires resubmission. Instructions will be provided for resubmission.
Approval and print times may vary during the semester. Please follow up with Student Admin if you have not received a confirmation email or a notification to collect your card after a few days.
ID Card Collection
On-campus collection
Once your ID card is printed, you will be notified via email with details about where and when to collect your card from the Student Hub on your campus.
Remember to bring a valid photo ID to collect your ID card.
Posting your card
If you are studying online or unable to attend campus, please contact Student Admin to organise the postage of your card.
Replacement ID Cards
If you previously had a Notre Dame ID card and need a replacement, please note a fee of $20 applies for the replacement.
Complete the steps below to organise a replacement card:
- Pay the replacement fee through the Notre Dame Payment Gateway.
- Include a copy of your payment receipt with your email request.
- Your details will be added to Capture Me and you will receive an email with a sign in link.
- Complete the remaining steps above to submit your ID verification and photo.

Concession for Public Transport

Opal Card - NSW students
Sydney Campus Domestic students undertaking full-time study and who are studying on-campus are eligible to receive travel concession on public transport by obtaining a Concession Opal Card.
Fill out the Application For NSW Tertiary Student Concession form and submit the completed form via email to Student Admin. Once approved, students can proceed to apply for the OPAL concession card on the Transport NSW website.
Please note students travelling outside the Opal Network are also required to carry a Transport Concession Entitlement Card.

Tertiary SmartRider – WA students
University of Notre Dame’s students enrolled in full-time study and who are studying on-campus are eligible to apply for a Tertiary SmartRider. Students should complete the “Application for Metropolitan Tertiary SmartRider” form.
This can be downloaded from the Transperth website. Please complete the “Application for Tertiary SmartRider” form and take it to Student Administration in ND1. A Student Administration staff member will stamp to confirm that you are currently full-time enrolled. The form should then be submitted to any Transperth Info Centre or authorised SmartRider Retail Sales Outlet. The nearest centres are the Fremantle Train Station or Woolstores Newsagency Fremantle.
A $5 card fee and minimum add value amount of $10 applies. For more information on the SmartRider, please contact Transperth on 9326 2277 or download the SmartRider Guide from the Transperth website.
Students must re-apply for the tertiary SmartRider each year, as the concession expires on the 31st March.
