Semester 1 Calendar

  • Student and staff gym

    Our Student/Staff Gym provides a competitively priced, convenient facility to remain physically and mentally active on campus.

    Our facility is clean, flexible, and functional in design with high ceilings flooded with natural light, making it the ultimate wellness haven.

    Open 6am-10pm on weekdays and 7am-5pm on weekends, you’ll enjoy high-quality fitness equipment including:

    • Jim Bradley boxing punching bags
    • Aerobic machines – treadmill, exercise bikes, rowing machine
    • Weight machines – cable machine, torsonator, leg press
    • Free weights – IronEdge bumper plates and bars, racks, dumbbells

    Payment instructions will be provided at your induction session. All new members, including students and staff, are required to complete an induction session. You’ll need to sign a membership form and pre-medical form prior to joining the gym.

    On completion of the induction and after receipt of payment, your membership card will be available for collection and your access will be activated.

  • UNDA Active - get active for free

    We offer free on-campus fitness classes for students looking to improve their overall wellbeing (physical and mental).

    Where: ND49 (Customs House), room attached to Staff and Student Gym.
    Cost: Free for all UNDA Students (simply fill out the waiver form and bring a Student card to each session). Free for all staff, providing they are members of the Gym.

  • UNDA Moves - rewards for getting active

    • Moves+
      Linking your wearable fitness tracker to Open Play’s “Moves+” application, you can gain access to ND Moves. This initiative will reward UNDA students for logging walking, running, swimming and cycling fitness progress. Rewards given away include University merchandise, local vouchers and giveaways. Full details available on app.

  • UNDA Social Sports

    Participating in social sport at Notre Dame is a great way to stay healthy while having fun and connecting with friends. All sports are mixed gender and place a priority on being a fun environment first, not the Olympics.

    We offer a range of social sports on campus, including:

    Completely free.
    Players who are not UNDA students will have to pay a one-time fee of approximately $25
    However to register a team for the organised competition, the team will be subject to financial penalty if attendance is not maintained.

    Team requirements
    : minimum of 8 per team, with at least 50% being UNDA students, and all teams must be mixed.

    Complete a Registration Form: All players in the competition must complete the online forms

  • UNDA Run Club

    (Excludes non-teaching weeks and public holidays)

    Free for all UNDA students and staff, just show up at the meeting point at 7am!

    Each semester, we enter teams in local lunchtime competitions just a short walk from the Broadway campus. These competitions are mixed, social, fun and FREE!

    Games run at a mix of times throughout the week, making them easy to fit around classes. If you have a free period, why not join in!

    UNDA Adventure offers FREE weekly 1 off events throughout the semester. Are you looking to get active and try new activities? There will be a range of different activities such as Puppy Yoga, Golf Driving Range, Bouldering, Learn 2 Surf, Escape room, City 2 Surf, Bowling, Salsa Class, Laser Tag & more.

Representative sports

Representative sporting competitions present an opportunity for Aussie uni students to compete head-to-head in several national standard sporting competitions.

  • UniSport Nationals

    From 26 September - 3 October 2026, Notre Dame will participate in UniSport Nationals in Perth. Sports that are available at UniSport Nationals are as follows (please note, this is dependent on our team numbers and sign-ups):

    Every year, UniSport Nationals gives students from universities across Australia the opportunity to compete head-to-head in a number of national standard sporting competitions. Pop Up 1v1 Intervarsity Events will be arranged throughout the year as they arise.

Elite athlete program

Did you know… Notre Dame forms part of the Elite Sport Education Network, committed to supporting Australia’s elite athletes to achieve academic excellence whilst pursuing a sporting career.

Eligible elite athletes can negotiate their study and assessment options or explore any flexible studies arrangement in the course of their university degree.

An elite athlete or coach is identified and recognised, or is a member of one of the following organisations:

  • AFL Players’ Association
  • Australian Cricketers’ Association
  • Australian Institute of Sport
  • Australian Professional Footballers’ Association
  • National squad members from Australian Sports Commission recognised sports
  • Rugby League Professionals’ Association
  • Rugby Union Players’ Association
  • Senior/head coaches from state and territory institutes/academies of sport, national teams from Australian Sports Commission recognised sports or participating professional sports
  • State Institutes or Academies of Sport (e.g., WAIS or NSWIS)
