  • Biography

    Dr. Amy Parish completed her Ph.D. in English Literature at the University of New South Wales in 2017. While completing her Ph.D., Amy worked as a sessional tutor in English literature and academic skills at UNSW. Amy also has extensive experience teaching English in Secondary schools in NSW.

    Amy was an HSC examiner for Advanced and Extension 2 English for 7 consecutive years and has continued to be involved in HSC English by providing enrichment workshops for students in Extension 2 English and HSC Advanced English modules. Amy has also worked for several years in the Professional Experience Office at UNDA and has a particular investment and interest in the value of quality professional experience in teacher education programs.

    Amy is currently the coordinator of the Secondary Methods courses on the Sydney campus and tutors English Teaching Methods in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs. Her current research focuses on the perceptions and attitudes of preservice teachers toward teaching grammar and writing.
