• Biography

  Professor Sally Egan is a strategic, transformational, educational leader with senior experience across higher education, government, national and all three NSW education sectors. She is Senior Director, Academic Strategic Development at the University of Notre Dame Australia and has led the strategic program pipeline aligned to address the growth of the University and align to the ATEC and ACCORD. Sally strives to collaborate with local, national and international partners to enact opportunities aligned to the UNDA strategic pillar Universality. Currently, she is leading the Greater Western Sydney strategy to focus on providing students with opportunities to study and learn at UNDA Study Centres.

  Previously, Sally served as Deputy Executive Director of the National Catholic Education Commission (2021–2023), advancing national strategy, advocacy and cross-sector collaboration, including work on teacher workforce, enrolment, educational excellence and regional and remote schooling initiatives. She also held executive roles in the NSW Department of Education, including Executive Director of the Centre for Education Statistics and Evaluation and Acting Executive Director, School Performance, where she led large-scale school improvement reforms. Prior to the systemic leadership roles, Sally has held leadership roles at Pymble Ladies’ College and Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview.

  Sally contributes to the wider educational community through governance and advisory roles, including Board Member and Finance Committee Chair at Catholic Schools Broken Bay, member of Catholic Schools Parramatta’s Mission and Learning Advisory Group, and Advisory Committee Member for the Wilcannia–Forbes Diocese. Sally also serves on the CRMNA Education Policy Group.
