  • Biography

    Riko Stevens is a Lecturer in Economics at the University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle Campus. He is also an Adjunct Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia (UWA) and the current Treasurer of the Economic Society of Australia (WA Branch). Riko holds a PhD in Economics from UWA as well as First Class B.Com (Hons) and M.Com degrees in Economics from the University of Auckland. His main research interest is the history of economic thought with a particular focus on the intersection of economics and finance. His PhD thesis on the treatment of speculation in the Marshallian tradition of economic thought was awarded the 2022 History of Economic Thought Society of Australia (HETSA) Prize for Best Doctoral Thesis.

    Riko's main research interest is the history of economic thought with a particular focus on the intersection of economics and finance. In 2022, Riko completed a PhD thesis titled "The Theory of Speculation in the Marshallian Tradition: Marshall, Pigou, Lavington, and Keynes on the Microeconomics of Speculation" at the University of Western Australia, which received the 2022 Prize for Best Doctoral Thesis from the History of Economic Thought Society of Australia.
