Biography
Dr Evans is Emeritus Professor of Law in the School of Law and Business at The University of Notre Dame (Australia) He is also the principal of PJ Evans and Associates, Lawyers, Arbitrators, Mediators and Adjudicators. He is a graded arbitrator, accredited mediator and construction contracts adjudicator.
Before leaving to practice law full time in the Dispute Resolution section with a national law firm in 1998, Dr Evans was the Head of the Department of Construction Management at Curtin University.
In 2001 he joined the College of Law at the University of Notre Dame Australia. In 2005 he was appointed Professor of Law and Head of the Graduate School of and the Course Coordinator of the Graduate Certificate in Building and Construction Law.
Dr Evans holds a current legal practice certificate and in addition to his university teaching and research roles, Dr Evans conducts regular continuing professional development programs and in-house training in the areas of contract law, trade practices law, administrative law, statute law, dispute resolution, construction law, and arbitration.
Dr Evans has published widely in construction law and dispute resolution and has coached winning national and international arbitration mooting teams. He also regularly appears as a judge in International Arbitration Mooting Competitions.
